Breath of Water ( (みず) () (きゅう) Mizu no kokyū?): One of the five main Breath Styles directly derived from the Breath of the Sun. The Breath Style has been developed by Yoriichi Tsugikuni for Demon Slayers, who could not use the Breath of the Sun. The same is applicable for the other main Branch Breath Styles. [1]

It is said to be easy, which is why it is used by most of the Demon Slayers. The primary Cultivator for the Demon Slaying Corps is Sakonji Urokodaki. The 11th Style is an original attack created by Giyu Tomioka.

Attacks

  1. First Style: Water Surface Slice ( (いち) (かた) (みな) () () Ichi no kata: Minamo giri?)[2] - The swordsman generates enough momentum to create a powerful single concentrated slash.
  2. Second Style: Water Wheel ( () (かた) (みず) (ぐるま) Ni no kata: Mizu guruma?)[3] - The swordsman leaps and spins in the air while releasing an flowing attack in a circular motion.
  3. Third Style: Dance of the Rapid Current ( (さん) (かた) (りゅう) (りゅう) () San no kata: Ryūryū mai?)[4] - The swordsman swings his blade at his opponent in a way that mimics the movement of waves on the surface of water.
  4. Fourth Style: Striking Tide ( () (かた) () (しお) Shi no kata: Uchishio?)[5] - The swordsman makes multiple consecutive slashes while twisting their body in a flowing fashion similar to a harsh tide.
  5. Fifth Style: The Merciful Rain of a Dry Day ( () (かた) (かん) (てん) () () Go no kata: Kanten no jiu?)[6] - A "sword strike of kindness" that kills the target with little to no pain. Used when the enemy surrenders.
  6. Sixth Style: Twisting Whirpool ( (ろく) (かた) ねじれ (うず) Roku no kata: Nejire uzu?)[7] - The swordsman fiercely twists his upper and lower body, creating a whirlpool that cuts anything caught in it.
  7. Seventh Style: Piercing Rain Drop ( (しち) (かた) (しずく) () (もん) () Shichi no kata: Shizuku wa Mondzuki?) A fast and accurate stab. The fastest Breath of Water technique.
  8. Eighth Style: Waterfall Jar ( (はち) (かた) (たき) (つぼ) Hachi no kata: Takitsubo?)[8] - The swordsman cuts the target vertically.
  9. Ninth Style: Water Splash ( () (かた) (すい) (りゅう) 飛沫 (しぶき) Ku no kata: Suiryū shibuki?) - Minimizes the landing time and surface needed when landing, allowing the user to move without limits. Ideal when fighting in a place with no solid foothold.
  10. Tenth Style: The Dragon of Change ( (じゅう) (かた) (せい) (せい) () (てん) Jū no kata: Seisei ruten?)[9] - A continuous attack that increases in power with each rotation, creating a strong slash.
  11. Eleventh Style: Lull ( (じゅう) (いち) (かた) (なぎ) Jū Ichi no kata: Nagi?)[10] - Created by the Water Pillar, Tomioka Giyu, the swordsman ceases any body movements and engages a skill that disables and nullifies incoming attacks. However, its effectiveness is limited as fast and numerous attacks can break through.
