The chapter begins with Senjuro and Tanjiro looking over a book that may have had information on the Dance of the Fire God, only to realize most of its pages have been ripped to shreds and are unreadable. Senjuro feels bad but Tanjiro consoles him by expressing his desire to be more adept in handling Dance of the Fire God and his resolve to become a strong pillar like Kyojuro.
Senjuro is touched by Tanjiro's resolve and expresses his resentment over not being able to succeed his brother as the Flame Pillar, but resolves to find other ways to help people. Tanjiro echoes his brother's words by telling him he would headbutt anyone who would badmouth Senjuro. Before Tanjiro takes his leave, Senjuro assures Tanjiro he will continue to look into the Flame Pillars and will send a crow if he finds something.
As Tanjiro heads out, Senjuro gifts Tanjiro his brother's guard. Tanjiro is initially reluctant to accept it but he accepts it due to Senjuro's reassurance. As Senjuro returns to his house, he notices his father, Shinjuro, has returned. Senjuro's effort to convey Kyojuro's message for his father was met by spontaneous beration. Once it Shinjuro calms down, Senjuro calmly delivers the message to his father, "Please take care of your body." As Senjuro closes the door, Shinjuro immediately thinks of Kyojuro and breaks down in tears.
The chapter concludes with Tanjiro looking visibly exhausted as he heads towards the Butterfly Estate, only to be met by Haganezuka. Tanjiro is then berated by Haganezuka for losing his sword and is forced to hide from Haganezuka's attack of frustration.
