PVP Movesets[]
Basic Actions[]
- Move: The basic movements of going left, right, forward, or backward when the left control stick is maneuvered (or holding W/A/S/D if playing Steam on keyboard).
- Rolling Recovery: If knocked to the ground, the player can roll away to escape and wake up. Occurs when moving while on the ground. You will not be hit by attacks while rolling.
- Jump: Jump up (or in the direction you're moving). You can attack and sidestep while airborne. Activated with the × button on PlayStation, the A button on Xbox and Steam, the K key on Steam (keyboard), and the B button on Nintendo Switch.
- Quick Recover: When you get knocked into the air, this lets you get back on your feet before hitting the ground.
- Quick Dodge: Interrupt a light attack with a sidestep, jump, or chase dash (some fighters can quick dodge during certain skills as well). Consumes 20% of the skill gauge.
- Chase Dash: Dash to the opponent. You can cancel this with other actions like attack, jump, sidestep, or guard. Hitting an opponent with this will stagger them briefly. There are 3 levels of speed with 1 being the slowest and 3 the fastest. Activated with the 〇 button on PlayStation, the B button on Xbox and Steam, the L key on Steam (keyboard), and the A button on Nintendo Switch.
- Aerial Chase Dash: Catching up with your opponent while they are airborne.
- Sidestep/Quick Step (Nintendo Switch): Quickly jump in the direction you tilt the left stick (or holding W/A/S/D if playing Steam on keyboard). You can also sidestep while airborne.
- Quick Dodge: Interrupt a light attack with a sidestep, jump, or chase dash (some fighters can quick dodge during certain skills as well). Consumes 20% of the skill gauge.
- Guard: Block attacks for as long as the button is held (with some exceptions). Guard strength weakens as attacks are blocked. If it runs out, your guard will break, leaving you vulnerable. As your guard strength weakens, the color will change from blue, to yellow, to red. Guard strength recovers over time. Activated with the R1 button on PlayStation, the right bumper on Xbox and Steam, the O key on Steam (keyboard), and the R button on Nintendo Switch.
- Push: Push the opponent back while blocking attacks. You will recover more quickly after blocking an attack compared to a regular guard. Push your opponent back and prevent them from landing a combo on you. After a shove, you can immediately counterattack or sidestep away. Accomplished by holding the movement stick (or holding W/A/S/D if playing Steam on keyboard).
- Parry: Guard for a split second. If you successfully block an attack during this time, not only will the opponent be staggered (barring certain attacks) but your special gauge will fill as well. Only blocks attacks in the moment you're surrounded by a light effect, but if you succeed you'll have a chance to strike back. Accomplished by simultaneously moving the movement stick (or holding W/A/S/D if playing Steam on keyboard).
- Heavy Attack: Pack a punch without flinching, even if you're hit during it. Hold the button before releasing to increase the chance of breaking the opponent's guard. You can also interrupt a normal attack to perform a strong attack (which consumes 20% of the skill gauge). Accomplished by simultaneously moving Activated with the 〇 button on PlayStation, the B button on Xbox and Steam, the L key on Steam (keyboard), and the A button on Nintendo Switch.
- Skill Gauge Recovery: If no input is made in a certain period of time, the character will automatically enter a stance that quickly refills the skill gauge. When you've knocked your opponent down or used a support skill, that's a great time to use this technique. End this stance by taking an action like moving or guarding.
Basic Attacks[]
- Light Attack: A simple attack. For combos, press repeatedly to attack up to 4 times on the ground (5 if Boosting), or 2 in the air. The 4th on the ground/1st in the air change if the left stick is tilted. A neutral finisher (if the movement stick is straight) leaves them staggered but still standing, a down finisher (accomplished while holding the movement stick down) knocks them to the ground, and an up finisher (accomplished while holding the movement stick up) launches them upward. Activated with the □ button on PlayStation, the X button on Xbox and Steam, the J key on Steam (keyboard), and the Y button on Nintendo Switch.
- Dive: While airborne, the player will hone in on the target below. Accomplished the same way you would a heavy attack, with the caveat being airborne.
- Throw: The player flings the opponent across the arena in a cinematic animation, dealing damage. Throws cannot be guarded. Activated with light attacks, with a caveat of also activating the guard.
Special Attacks[]
- Skill: Consume 20% of the skill gauge to unleash a powerful attack. Each fighter has three different skills at their disposal. Activated with the △ button on PlayStation, the Y button on Xbox and Steam, the I key on Steam (keyboard), and the X button on Nintendo Switch.
- Neutral Skill: A basic and default skill.
- Tilt Skill: A skill activated when also tilting the movement stick (or holding W/A/S/D if playing Steam on keyboard)
- Guard Skill: A skill activated when also activating the guard feature.
- Support Skill: Your support fighter appears and uses a skill (does not consume skill gauge). Two different skills can be used based on whether or not you tilt the left stick. Consumes 50% of the support gauge. Activated with the L1 button on PlayStation, the left bumper on Xbox and Steam, the U key on Steam (keyboard), and the L button on Nintendo Switch.
- Neutral Support Skill: A basic and default support skill.
- Tilt Support Skill: A support skill activated when also tilting the movement stick (or holding W/A/S/D if playing Steam on keyboard)
- Switch: Switch places with your support fighter. HP and all other gauges are shared between the two fighters. Accomplished by holding.
- Emergency Escape: Can be performed when hit by the opponent's attack. Can evade the opponent's attack. Consumes 100% of the support or demon gauge. Accomplished if hit while activating the support skill.
- Demon Skill: A skill exclusive to all demons (except Nezuko) in exchange for the ability to switch players. Consumes 50% of the demon gauge. Activated the same way you would a support skill.
- Tilt Demon Skill: Ditto, but while also tilting the movement stick. Activated the same way you would a tilt support skill.
- Single Player Support: Tengen's wives and Yoriichi Type Zero are the only non-demons to be single-player slots. Due to this, they have their own support skills as well.
- Boost: Consume a special bar to briefly gain movement speed and attack power. Also, the skill and support gauges will be maxed, and the character’s attacks will have enhanced or altered visuals. Activated with the L2 button on PlayStation, the left trigger on Xbox and Steam, the Q key on Steam (keyboard), and the ZL button on Nintendo Switch.
- Boosted Finisher: A special finish to combos while boosted, accompanied by a cinematic animation.
- Surge: Consume a special bar while Boosting to gain even more speed and attack power. The skill and support gauges will be maxed, and skills have no cost. Activated the same way you would boost while already boosted.
- Demon Boost and Surge: When a demon (excluding Nezuko) uses Boost or Surge, their skill gauge and demon gauge will be completely refilled. They will also begin to replenish HP. Surge will restore more HP than Boost. However, getting hit by an attack, performing a Quick Step, or guarding will interrupt HP recovery and reduce the amount healed.
- Ultimate Art: Consume a special bar to unleash your ultimate move. It unleashes an extremely powerful and damaging attack accompanied by a cinematic animation. A special cutscene plays if the player manages to win the match while using the Ultimate. Activated with the R2 button on PlayStation, the right trigger on Xbox and Steam, the E key on Steam (keyboard), and the ZR button on Nintendo Switch.
- Ascended Ultimate Art: If the special gauge has 2 bars, all bars will be spent to increase its power and damage, although only one will be spent if the player misses.
- Dual Ultimate Art: Ditto, but if the player uses specific characters in their team, or use the combined version of Yahaba and Susamaru, and Daki and Gyutaro, they will instead unlock an alternative Ultimate Art featuring both characters combining their strengths. This requires 2 bars; 1 bar will only play their default Ultimate Art.
