Season 2 is the second season of Koyoharu Gotoge's Kimetsu no Yaiba by ufotable. It is a direct continuation of the first season and is split into 2 cours, respectively subtitled Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Train Arc (
The first cour contains an extended cut of the original 2020 Mugen Train movie, featuring all the movie's content in episodic format alongside brand new content made for the TV anime broadcast. The second cour is entirely new content.[1]
Plot[]
Following their battles on Mount Natagumo and recovery at the Butterfly Mansion, Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke, and Nezuko are tasked with aiding the investigation of the Mugen train, where over forty disappearances have occured. They join one of the most powerful swordsmen within the Demon Slayer Corps, the Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku, to face the demon aboard the Mugen train and rescue the passengers.
Later, Tanjiro and company join alongside another of the Demon Slayer Corps' top ranked swordsmen, the Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui, and travel to a place where demons are said to dwell – the Yoshiwara Entertainment District – to investigate a supposed powerful demonic presence that lurks the city at night amidst bustling human activity and residence.
