Kyojuro Rengoku vs Slasher was a battle that took place at a train yard. It focuses on the battle between the Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku against the Slasher, a demon responsible for numerous attacks in a town.
Prologue[]
During his investigation of the Mugen Train, Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku goes into the yard where the train is being repaired. He offers food to the workers as he speaks to one of the workers about the train when they suddenly hear a scream. Rushing into action, he finds a marked demon holding a boy hostage and driving his claws in.
Battle[]
The demon taunts Kyojuro, claiming he's the fastest and that the Hashira can't kill him without injuring the hostage. Additionally, the demon also claims to have slashed up a girl the night before, however Kyojuro counters his boast by saying that they saved the girl and that she will recover with no injuries. Angered, the demon decides to kill the vendors that Kyojuro befriended, but first he will kill his hostage. Kyojuro is quick to react and cuts off the demons arm's, saving the hostage.
The demon decides to retreat using his Blood Demon Art, his speed dramatically increasing as he runs along the train tracks to find the vendors. Kyojuro stays with the now-former hostage as he heals him, assuring the workers that he'll be okay. As more Demon Slayers turn up, Kyojuro goes after the demon, using Total Concentration Breathing to increase his speed and catch up to the demon.
The demon finds the young vendor and goes in for the kill; but is distracted when the older vendor throws bento boxes at him. The box's contents disgusts the demon, causing him to hold his face. The young vendor takes this opportunity to escape but is caught by the demon and is about to be killed when Kyojuro arrives in the nick of time, slashing his achilles and causing him to drop the vendor. The demon then rushes and confronts the older vendor, but is accosted by Kyojuro.
Still believing he can win, the Slasher then issues a speed challenge to the Flame Hashira; either the demon kills the older vendor or he decapitates him. Instead Kyojuro tells him the demon he is slow, and in an instant, he lunges forward and decapitates the Slasher using Flame Breathing, First Form: Unknowing Fire.
Aftermath[]
With victory won, Kyojuro preforms the process of Chiburi. As he does this, the older vendor is reminded of an incident 20 years ago, where a similar looking Demon Slayer killed an attacking demon. Believing this was him, she thanks him profusely for saving her again, to which he responds it was probably his father who had saved her, but he is glad he could follow in his footsteps. He then leaves to board the Mugen train and continue his investigation.
