Omitsu (お
Appearance
Omitsu was a middle-aged woman with noticeable wrinkles on her face and sharp eyes. Her black hair was tied up in a type of tsubushi shimada style held with a decorative comb.
Omitsu was seen wearing a patterned kimono tied with a light-colored obi.
Personality
Although not much is known about Omitsu's personality, it was evident that she was an esteemed figure in the brothel, evident by the number of people that mourned her passing in the days after she was discovered dead.[1]
Omitsu initially respected Warabihime, as shown when she first ignored the incidents revolving around her. However, that respect eventually evaporated over time and ultimately led Omitsu to confront Warabihime in an attempt to protect her staff from further harm.[2]
History
As a child, Omitsu heard her elders tell her about a certain oiran who was incredibly beautiful but also incredibly twisted by nature, along with her ruthless behavior towards others.[3]
At some point as an adult, Omitsu would become the manager of the Kyogoku House and work with the oiran Warabihime, unaware that she was actually the demon Daki.
Synopsis
Entertainment District Arc
After hearing numerous incidents involving girls committing Ashinuke, getting hurt, and even killing themselves, Omitsu confronted Warabihime, who she believed to be the culprit. When Omitsu accused her of bullying and driving several girls into committing suicide, Warabihime coldly retorted that they wouldn't have died had they simply not annoyed her and tactfully added that a big part of the Kyogoku House's success was due to her alone.
Infuriated by Warabihime's attitude, Omitsu recounted the story she'd been told as a child, about many oirans across history who shared the same traits. They were all extremely beautiful but also notorious for their cruelty, and always had "hime" added to their names for their petty and harsh attitudes. Notably, they would also all cock their heads to the side and stick their noses up when something angered them.
Seeing Warabihime doing just that, Omitsu tearfully questioned the oiran for her inhuman nature while armed with a knife, prompting the demon to shed her disguise, grab her with her obi, and take her high above the district. Omitsu begged for her life, but Warabihime mocked her for her stupidity, "kindly" told her not to be afraid, as she didn't eat old people, and then proceeded to loosen her obi, dropping the hapless woman screaming to her death below.
Abilities
As an ordinary human, she doesn't possess any additional powers or abilities.
Trivia
- Warabihime and the other residents of Kyogoku House call her "Okami" (
女 將 さん Okami-san?), meaning the proprietress of their own residence.
