Shimamoto (島 (しま) 本 (もと) , Shimamoto^?) is a Demon Slayer from the Demon Slayer Corps.

Appearance

Shimamoto is a male with short messy spiky black hair and an x-shape scar on his right face.

Personality

Not much is known about his personality, but he is impressed by the Hashira's skills, although intimidated by their strength and believes that their intensity scares off any Tsuguko. Shimamoto is also shown to take his duties seriously, as he and Noguchi help kill a giant demon in the Infinity Castle in order to protect the Hashira and conserve their energy to take on Muzan.

History

At a point in his life, Shimamoto joined the Demon Slayer Corps.

Synopsis

Hashira Training Arc

Shimamoto is first seen undergoing Gyomei Himejima's muscle amplification training while enduring a waterfall with Inosuke Hashibira, Nagakura, and Yoshioka. He is later seen eating and conversing with Murata and Tanjiro while eating onigiri. He concurs with Murata, Noguchi, Nagakura, and Yoshioka with the sentiment that the reason the current Hashira have no Tsuguko is because they all became frightened by the laborious training. Nevertheless, he enjoys and compliments Tanjiro's cooking, and is even moved to tears by his grilled onigiri.

Later on he and Noguchi interrupt Tanjiro's attempt to push a massive boulder and request him to cook dinner. Tanjiro happily complies, causing them to jokingly refer to him as "mom".

Final Battle Arc

Infinity Castle Arc

Shimamoto was transported into into the Infinity Castle. He can be seen taking on a giant demon, alongside a band of Demon Slayers asking Gyomei Himejima and Muichiro Tokito to let them engage the lesser threat so the Hashira could take on the more powerful Muzan Kibutsuji. He teams up with Noguchi to simultaneously behead the demon using both their swords.

However, it's unknown if Shimamoto was one of the many Demon Slayers weeded out by either the demons infesting the castle, or by Muzan himself following his emergence from his flesh cocoon and after the castle had collapsed. It should be noted that when confronting Muzan, Inosuke lamented the deaths of the Demon Slayers he had shared meals with and demands that he gives them back. Since Shimamoto matches this description, his death is a possibility.

Abilities

Shimamoto is presumed to have above average Demon Slayer abilities, as evidenced by him reaching the final stage of Hashira Training, and not quitting the grueling training like other Demon Slayers. In addition, he takes on and kills a giant demon with the strength of a Lower Rank with the help of Noguchi.

Trivia

• Shimamoto shares an English voice actor with Genya Shinazugawa's Kasugai Crow, Hashibami.
• Like his fellow trainees, Shimamoto's name was revealed in a text block in Chapter 134, which was omitted in Episode 60 of the anime, leaving him a nameless extra.
