Special One-Shot (特 (とく) 別 (べつ) 読 (よみ) 切 (きり) , Tokubetsu Yomikiri^?), also known as Rengoku Chapter Zero (煉 (れん) 獄 (ごく) 零 (れい) 話 (わ) , Rengoku Rei-wa^?), is a one-shot about the Flame Hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku, that was written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotoge prior to the release of Kimetsu no Yaiba: The Movie - Mugen Train. The story takes place during Kyojuro's first mission. It was later compiled into the series' 2nd Fanbook.

Summary

Kyojuro Rengoku goes on his first mission to kill a demon, known for destroying others with his flute. He battles him, reflecting on decisions, and risks. He ultimately defeats the demon, making his first mission a victory, and gaining the confidence he needs to continue his demon slaying journey.
