Synopsis[]

Hashira Training Arc[]

Hashira Training (Anime)

Takeuchi taking on Tengen's stamina training.

Takeuchi can be seen running with Murata during Tengen Uzui's stamina training.[2] Sometime later, he moved on to Obanai Iguro's sword skill revision training. He had failed to meet the harsh Serpent Hashira's expectations and as punishment was tied up to a podium and was made to be an obstacle to avoid being hit. At some point, he was presumably let down and trained as well, leaving him but a bunch of bruises. When he and some other trainees, including Tanjiro Kamado and Noguchi were about to enter a hot onsen bath, they knew that it was going to agitate their bruises, so they decided to go in simultaneously. They did, but still scream and wince in agony.[3]

Infinity Castle Arc[]

Takeuchi checks on Yushiro CH180

Takeuchi turns back to check on Yushiro.

Takeuchi is one of the Demon Slayers who partakes in the final battle against the demons. In the Infinity Castle, he can be seen dashing through the halls alongside Yushiro. When Muzan Kibutsuji ruthlessly kills Tamayo, Yushiro is overwhelmed with grief, causing him to collapse and unleash his fury upon the floor, expressing his anguish at the loss. Takeuchi, not knowing what had happened is concerned, turns back to check on Yushiro and inquire about his well-being.[4]

Later, Yushiro manages to stealthily approach Nakime, seizing control of her sight and manipulating her actions. Takeuchi stands by his side, visibly worried, while Yushiro controls Nakime. Similar to Yushiro, Takeuchi also had adorned his clothing with paper talismans, effectively masking his presence. As Muzan, through telekinesis, becomes aware of Nakime's predicament, he engages in a fierce battle of wills with Yushiro, attempting to absorb his cells through Nakime in an effort to eliminate him. Witnessing Yushiro's agonized screams and determined resistance, Takeuchi desperately searches for a way to aid him and suggests that Yushiro consume him, believing that demons require humans as a source of sustenance to enhance their power. However, Yushiro fiercely rejects Takeuchi's proposition, commanding him to remain silent. Immediately realizing his mistake, Takeuchi apologizes sincerely.[5]

As Muzan becomes momentarily distracted by the attack of two Hashira, his control over Nakime wavers, granting Yushiro an opportunity to retaliate and alter the course of the battle, causing Muzan and the Hashira to plummet. Muzan then clenches his fist and kills Nakime.[6] Takeuchi, horror-struck, witnesses the sudden explosion of Nakime's head, blood splattering in all directions. Clutching his face in terror, Takeuchi screams at the harrowing sight.[5] Not knowing what Muzan did, he mistakenly believed Yushiro had crushed Nakime's skull due to his irritation with Takeuchi's earlier attempt to help.[7]

Sunrise Countdown Arc[]

After the collapse of the castle, Takeuchi finds Yushiro trapped under the weight of debris. As he is unable to remove the rubble all by himself, he tries to find help and sees Murata on the ground desperately attempting resuscitate Tanjiro Kamado. He runs towards his friend and calls out his name, who is startled by the sudden shout. Takeuchi expresses relief that his friend is alive. Aware of Yushiro's dire situation, Takeuchi pleads for Murata's help in rescuing him. Despite his initial reluctance to leave Tanjiro's side, Murata soon realizes the importance of Takeuchi's plea as the latter emphasizes Yushiro's unique abilities and vital first aid skills. With urgency, Takeuchi takes charge and pulls Murata along towards Yushiro.[8]

A short while later, Takeuchi is cradling Tanjiro's head, while Yushiro expertly administers serums into Tanjiro's body. Suddenly, Takeuchi feels a pulse resurfacing. He urgently shares the news of this encouraging development. However, what follows catches him off guard. As Tanjiro's grip tightens around his sword, a thunderous rattling reverberates through the air, leaving both Takeuchi and Murata astonished by the raw strength emanating from their unconscious comrade. Tanjiro then awakens and goes into battle against Muzan.[9]

Yushiro attached Chachamaru's head back on its body

Takeuchi and Murata watch in surprise as Yushiro puts Chachamaru's head back on to heal.

With Tanjiro revived, Takeuchi and his companions run on the battlefield to find signs of other injured comrades. Amidst the chaos, Murata offers him a water bottle. Their urgent search leads them to Chachamaru, who was slashed in pieces by Muzan. Yushiro assembles the body of the cat. Filled with surprise, Takeuchi can't help but voice his astonishment, questioning if the feline companion is also a demon. Yushiro calmly explains the transformation that occurred just before the battle. He tells them not to space out and help other people on the brink of death. Takeuchi then heeds Yushiro's words and spots the battered form of Inosuke Hashibira. He rushes to his aid and injects the serum.[10]

After Muzan was finally burned away by the sunlight, Takeuchi and Murata look on in shock and cries in tears of relief.[11]

In modern times, Takeuchi appears in the group photo of the survivors of the battle that hangs on the wall of the Kamado residence. His legacy is known to live on through his descendant, who is friends with Goto's descendant.[1]

Abilities[]

Takeuchi presumably has the abilities of an average Demon Slayer.

Relationships[]

Yushiro[]

Yushiro is annoyed by him, but tolerates him enough as to trust him to help the slayers by injecting them with the serum.

Murata[]

They are best friends, they stick around with each other and is shown to be glad that Murata survived the mayhem.

Tanjiro Kamado[]

They are presumed to be friends as Takeuchi appears worried when Tanjiro was incapacitated, and appeared in the group photo.
