Synopsis[]

In Taisho-era Japan, kindhearted Tanjiro Kamado makes a living selling charcoal. But his peaceful life is shattered when a demon slaughters his entire family. His little sister Nezuko is the only survivor, but she has been transformed into a demon herself! Tanjiro sets out on a dangerous journey to find a way to return his sister to normal and destroy the demon who ruined his life.

The battle against the powerful sibling demons Gyutaro and Daki is not going well. Although finally able to fight alongside Tanjiro against the monsters, Zenitsu, Inosuke and even the Hashira Tengen Uzui may all be overwhelmed. Battling even one of Lord Muzan's Twelve Kizuki is hard enough—can Tanjiro face two of them alone?

Author's Comment[]

I'm Gotouge. This is volume 11! Thank you for spreading this meager ring of crocodiles! I can never fully express my gratitude to everyone for spending their precious time on this manga. Perhaps we were comrades in arms in our former lives. Even when I feel like running away naked, some people still read it! When I realize I'm not alone, I can hang in there. I will work like mad so everyone can enjoy the series more!

Taisho Secrets[]

  • The author comments on his initial design, Tengen (along with asking the readers if the initial design was cooler than the current design):
    • Was less muscular, with a much thinner build.
    • Had half of his face covered in bandages, making it hard for others to see what he looks like.
    • Wore sleeves due to him "not wanting his arms sunburned," according to the author.
    • Has bachleor-ish vibe.
  • The following is the Hashira ranked in an arm wrestling competition. The author comments that Gyomei is scary since he's insanely strong and Kyojuro, Sanemi, Giyu, and Mitsuri would put up a good fight since they're just strong. The author also says Tanjiro probably was ranked between Muichiro (normal) and Obanai (a little weak). Tengen laughs "Hahaha".
Hashira Strength
1. Gyomei Himejima Insanely strong
2. Tengen Uzui Really Strong
3. Kyojuro Rengoku / Sanemi Shinazugawa / Giyu Tomioka / Mitsuri Kanroji Strong
4. Muichiro Tokito Normal
5. Obanai Iguro A little Weak
6. Shinobu Kocho Weak

Demon Slayer's Q&A[]

Q&A[]

Nobuo-kun: How long does it takes to become a Hashira?

Croc: Quick learners take two years, but normal people take five.

Nobuo-kun: How does one become a Hashira?

Croc: You can defeat one of Twelve Kizuki or 50 demons.

Nobuo-kun: How can one become a Tsuguko?

Croc: You apply to the Hashira and he or she decides to accept you. Or you can be scouted by a Hashira. Basically, it be best to use the same breathing style. But, you can be a Tsuguko of the Hashira even if you use a different breathing style.

Nobuo-kun: If I steal a Nichirin Sword that already has changed color, will it changed to my color?

Croc: First of all, don't steal it. And once the sword changes color, it will stay that color. Even if the owner changes.

Nobuo-kun?: Tch.

Croc: (Surprised by Nobuo-kun?'s "Tch.")

Q&A 2[]

Nobuo-kun: What is the breathing style of Insect, Sound, Serpent, and Love derived from?

Croc: Insect is derived from Flower, Both Flower and Serpent is from Water, and Sound is from Thunder.

Nobuo-kun: When a Hashira's seat opens up, do they choose someone from the Kinoe ranks?

Croc: Yeah, that's right. But, as you might be expected a candidate should have the skills to do it or they can't be a Hashira.

That's all. Thank you very much.

Nobuo-kun: So does that mean I'm a Hashira too, starting today?

Croc: Weren't you listening to me?

Title: Past Life's Sins / Lyrics and Composition: zenithu ☆ A

English Translation
Why do you have a girlfriend and I don't?

What did I do wrong?
My past life? Did I commit a crime then?

It might been better if I was born
As an insect or an animal.
If I was even more stupid
And have no pride.
Then I could chase beautiful girls with innocence and joy
And always be happy.

Even if they kick me with their hooves
And fly away with a whoosh.
I'm totally fine because I'm so dumb.
I want to be reborn,
As an insect or an animal will be fine.
I want to touch girls And smell them.

Why do you have a girlfriend and I don't?
What did I do wrong?
My past life? Did I commit a crime then?

Don't be so cold.
And punch me in the gut after that.
Don't say I'm gross and no way.
That's like stabbing me with a knife.
So don't say it! I can tell if you will.
'Cause I can read moods too.

Sins (chorus)

Sketches[]

  • Jump Illustrations of Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke as Hanafuda cards from June 2018.
  • Shinobu comments "You say arm-wrestling matches aren't about strength, right?" and Obanai replies "Yeah. That's right. Technique isn't all about strength." While Kaburamaru looks at Shinobu with hearts floating over his head.

Trivia[]

  • In Q&A 2; Nobuo-kun asks breathing style of Insect, Sound, Serpent, and Love derived from. Croc (the author) answers and adds where Flower's from, but forgot to mention where Love's derived from.
